How many messages can I send per day?
To protect users from abuse, SMTP has an allowance on the number of messages that can be sent of 500 messages an hour per IP address, or 600 messages a day (24 hours) per user.
These Web Mail allowances are well above what an average email user requires. In the event that you frequently exhaust your daily allowance, please our technical support department at (626) 444-9111 ext. 29. top

Users are receiving rejected email messages, can you explain?
When there is an issue with an email account, the sender may receive a "Recipient address rejected" status message also known as a "bounce." The following are some common "Recipient address rejected" status messages and their typical meaning:
- “Recipient address rejected: Sorry, the mailbox for no-space@yourmane.com is full, please try resending mail later”
- The recipient has exceeded their storage quota (mailbox is full).
- ”Recipient address rejected: This user does not have an account here”
- The recipient does not exist.
- ”Recipient address rejected: Not accepting mail for this account: Account terminated due to violation of user agreement”
- The recipient has been suspended for violating one or more service agreement terms.
- “Client host rejected: Resource temporarily unavailable - spam complaints”
- The sender that is trying to reach the recipient is sending their message from a network that is known to be the origin of excess spam.

Why did I receive an "approaching mailbox limit" message?
If enabled, users automatically receive a Quota Warning Letter once every 7 days when their mailbox utilizes 90% or more of its total storage capacity. The default Quota Warning Letter is:
From: admin@e-marketingassociates.com
Subject: Warning (Approaching mailbox limit)…
This email is sent as a courtesy to let you know your mailbox size is approaching its limit. To reduce the size, delete messages you no longer need, empty the trash and spam folders, or download the messages to your email client (Outlook, Express etc.).
If you have any questions or need assistance, please email or call our technical support department Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (PST).

What email safety tips do you recommend?
- Choose secure passwords
- Email and Control Center passwords must be at least 6 characters long, however 8 or more characters are recommended. Email passwords are case sensitive and can contain letters, numbers and most upper ASCII characters (e.g. &, ^, %). A secure password contains a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, and at least one number or upper ASCII character. Finally, a secure password should not be easy to guess.
- Change passwords regularly
- Update your passwords at least every 60 days. It is especially important to change your passwords frequently if you use or manage email on public computers which may be infected with spyware that record everything you type.
- Use Anti-Virus
- If you have Anti-Virus, your email account is protected by industry leading anti-virus technology that is updated every hour against the latest virus threats. We recommend that you also install and maintain anti-virus software on your computer to prevent infection from floppy disks, CDs, DVDs and other unexpected sources.
- Use SpamShield Pro
- If you have SpamShield Pro, you can automatically eliminate junk email and block web bugs that track your activity and system information.
- Do not reply to Spam
- In the event that spam sneaks past SpamShield Pro, delete it and forget about it. Replying or attempting to unsubscribe to junk email typically only informs the sender that they have found an active email address to send more spam.
- Trust no one
- Never give out sensitive personal or account information to someone that asks via email unless you have verified the message's authenticity. Common email scams employ email messages and even websites that look official, but are in fact attempts to steal your identity to commit fraud. Also beware of email hoaxes that not only spread misinformation, but also bog down networks as unsuspecting users forward them like spam.
- Logout
- Always logout of WebMail and the Control Center after you are done using them or whenever you leave the computer unattended.
- Use common sense
- And when in doubt, contact technical support.
